Today, I went back to Oahu and spent part of the day grocery shopping in the crowded last-minute New Year's Even hell of Don Quijote. Later, I met up with Ricky to do some long-exposure photography at Kakaako and watch some of the illegal aerial fireworks going off around Liliha before I went back to AMR to watch Aiea/Pearl City blow up with a fantastic midnight finale.
Today, I did some chores around the house and packed for Maui before my parents and I headed to the airport with Koda. Later, after arriving on Maui, I went to my friend's house for a traditional bonfire reunion party that our group of old high school friends tries to have everytime there are a lot of us back home.

Today, I picked up my parents this morning and brought them back to my house before we walked to Aloha Stadium for the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl. After leaving the lost game, we walked back home, and I took this photo kind of as a sarcastically emo Christmas photo, but then realized it kind of sums up my feelings about this Christmas after all, so I'm posting it in all its emo glory.
Second and hopefully last Christmas apart.
Today, I went to town with Chelsea and we did a little more shopping at Ala Moana, luckily before any power outtages. Later, I went to Hickam Air Force Base to photograph President Obama's arrival. Unfortunately, since he arrived close to midnight it was extremely dark, and I had a difficult time photographing the situation, but I learned a lot and will be better prepared next time I'm shooting in the dark like this.
Today, on this winter solstice, I got up early before going to pick up one of my oldest best friends, Chelsea, who is visiting me for a few days. Later, we went to Ala Moana despite the power outtages and went shopping before I came home to photograph the lunar eclipse during a lucky break in the clouds.
Today, I went to Hawaii Photo Rental to pick up a lens for the weekend. Later, I went on the Honolulu City Lights photowalk, and had a fun time hanging out with friends.
Today, I went to Ala Moana and bought some sweaters now that it's getting ever-so-slightly colder here. Later, I went to Aimee's house for hookah and margarita night.
Today, I got out of bed late even though Koda had been waking me up periodically all morning, before going out to finish my Thanksgiving grocery shopping. Later, Leo the Mastiff got dropped off, as I am babysitting him for the weekend while his parents are off-island. At least I have a giant guard dog now!
Today, we went to the park much later than the last two days, but managed to get fast passes for Soaring Over California in the afternoon before going on Space Mountain. Later, after walking around Disneyland a bit more, we went to California Adventure Park for the Soaring Over California ride before going back to the hotel for a break. We did go back to Disneyland in time for the fireworks one last time. I think we're spoiled for Disneyland at night now, with all the Christmas decor!
Today, I woke up late as I usually do the day after weddings, but I did manage to get myself over to town to return my gear on time. Later, I met up with Gabe for crepes and a little bit of shopping as a post-wedding reward to myself. I then came home and took Koda for a walk, before running a few more errands around Pearlridge.
This last-minute daily is especially dedicated to my love, because he was the first thought when I wondered what I should write.
