Today, I woke up early to the continuing lighting and thunder and rain, but it went away by 9:30am, and was a gloriously clear morning. Later, I met up with Cameron and we went to the mall to work at Starbucks for a while before doing a little shopping. After I came home my mom and I drove up the mountain a bit with Koda, but the vog was already coming back.
Today, I flew to Maui through the stormy weather, though I did get to see two whales off the coast of Maui right before I landed. Later, I went out with my mom to shoot photos of the storm clouds at sunset before settling in for a night of lightning and Skype.
Today, I woke up early, but ended up going back to bed for a few hours because I was too tired to function. Later, refreshed, I assisted and second-shot for Marina at a wedding at Kualoa Ranch's Secret Island, and couldn't resist a landscape shot while waiting for the ceremony to start.
Today, I worked more on cleaning up the house before my parents get back while talking to him. Later, I drove down to Pukalani to pick up some food, and on the way back pulled over to take some photos because the clouds were pretty epic today. Tonight, the new season of True Blood starts, and that's exciting.
Today, Maui was burning. I also had to take our older dog, Jet to the vet, because he's very sick. He will be staying there for the next couple days while they do tests. I also went back to town to do some more dress shopping with Sarah. Later, Mike and I went down to the shoreline to photograph the fire after the sun went down.
Today, I spent the morning at home, as usual. I've been getting up at 5:45am just to talk to him, so my mornings are a lot longer now. Later, I went to town just to get out of the house, and stocked up on food at Whole Foods. On my way home, I stopped on the side of the road to capture another one of my favorite views of Upcountry Maui.
Today, I spent the morning on Skype with him, and even weakly attempted some piano playing for him. Later, I drove down the mountain to pick up a couple copies of the last issue of MetroMix, because as a contributor I'm on the cover with the rest of the staff.
Today, I took my parents to the airport, officially beginning my house-sitting stint on Maui. Later, at sunset, I drove down the road and took some photos of Kula at sunset.
Today, I went to the Metromix farewell party where I met many of the Metromix contributors in person for the first time. Later, I joined my photography friends for a moonlight hike tweetup at Makapuu, which resulted in some awesome shots, but our time was cut short by cops telling Laurie (who was watching the cars for us) that we had to get out of there. Today's daily is dedicated to Laurie, for guarding our cars!
Today, I still didn't manage to get enough sleep, and was awake by 1:00pm for a total of 5 hours of sleep. Later, I hiked up Koko Head with Reid and Gabe. Hopefully now I'll sleep better tonight.
